The Cranberries – Zombie – Guitar Lesson

May 27th, 2009 · 25 Comments · Backing Tracks, Beginner Guitar Lessons, Easy Guitar Songs, Free Video Guitar Lessons, Song Guitar Lessons, Video Guitar Lessons

Released by the Cranberries in 1994, “Zombie” can be found on their debut album entitled “No Need to Argue”.

Lead singer Dolores O’Riordan claimed that “Zombie” speaks about “The Irish fight for independence that seems to last forever.” She went on to say that, Zombie is a song for peace, peace among England and Ireland.

In the video below the song is first explained as a simple version, then melody and finally a chord integrated style. Fortunately I have also managed to come up with a Zombie backing track which is included at the end of this post.

Great as usual Siggi… It took a bit of work, but I got it. The melody is a great intro and break for an acoustic version of this song.

Very pretty song. Thanks for this nice Sunday afternoon lesson. I like those songs you can learn in an afternoon. Maybe I’ll take a look at that CD of yours.

Good lesson Siggi. Well explained at a good pace. You can do the D/F# by using your thumb for the F# as well. Some might find that easier. Cheers, man, and keep the lessons coming – I watch them every time you have something new.
