Neil wrote the song in 1971 while suffering from a back injury and released it on his harvest album in 1972.

The song’s composition is not difficult but it has enough of a hook that it catches your ears. An easy song for the beginning guitarist. However, the actual rhythm may take a couple trial runs.

I have included the backing track and a song chord sheet below. Another must know campfire song and a favorite of mine. Enjoy!

AUTHOR NOTE: This song is in the key of G and I’m using a regular ten-hole diatonic harmonica in the key of G… probably a Hohner Blues Harp by the looks of it, but I’d recommend the Big River by them… they’re usually cheaper and they’re pretty good.
